I played the MS2000 today and I love it! I would love to buy one if I could afford it. It sounds like it's been plucked right out of the early 80's!!!! Even the squashy keyboard action (much like many of the older synthes) impressed me- it felt so realistic to play. It is a tweakers dream and THE SOUNDS!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!

Pity Korg love saving in the polyphony department though! ONLY 4 NOTE POLYPHONIC? I beg your pardon Korg- I understand that the old MS20 had only 4 notes of polyphony but we are in the 21st century now not in 1982! It would feel so much better to be able to play all those thick/phatt pads that can be created on this machine with at least 8 notes of polyphony.

IDEA- How about allowing us to add the 6 voice expansion board available for the Z1???????? Now that's a great idea. Or alternatively if this isn't possible than design another way of expanding the polyphony (even if we have to pay for it- certainly would!).

In the end though, the 4 notes of polyphony wouldn't stop me putting down a deposit for one- I had to literally run out of the music shop before I did this!!!!!!!!

Vegas-
There is no way I'd get mad at your opinion- and neither should anyone else!!!! Your opinion (like mine and everyone elses) should be respected and I definetly respect your opinion.

The MS2000 really impressed me on the surface. I must say that I didn't get right into the guts of the machine so to speak (checking out parameters and modulation routings etc).

I must fix up a mistake I made in my initial post- the MS20 is only monophonic- I confused it with the much more simpler (and newer) Korg Mono/Poly which I think has 'pseudo' polyhony of up to 4 voices.

I myself totally agree with you about build qaulity. Sadly, Korg and other companies are not at all interested in building gear in a robust fashion anymore- the rack mount version of the MS2000 (which I would love to own!) is not very well built at all! This is one of the reasons why I think it's price is so much lower than the keyboard version (which has the wood panelling and all that for the 'retro' feel!!!!).

I think the price and quality are right. The design could be a bit better and I think it sounds great. I rate it about 8.5/10. Like everything you got to work at it and I'd rather have one good note than eight crappy ones
